Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] On the basis of the only fragment of the Encomium of Philip of Teopompo (FGrHist 115 F 256), an attempt is made to characterize the conception of Europe of the historian. It is a Europe that looks to the West: by inviting the king to conquer it entirely, Teopompo invites him to overcome the limits of Balkan Europe and to extend his dominion not to the East but to the West.
