Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Interpreting the discourse around education in an authentic way means first and foremost giving equal dignity to the different subjects that make up the educating community so as to facilitate the assumption of common strategies that bring the humanum back to the center, in the sign of a shared value horizon and of a convergent educational intentionality. In the plurality of formal, non-formal and informal educational occasions, the school, an open system in continuous exchange with the context towards which it is an active filter, a crucial place for education, can become an emblematic context of action research to propose a new humanism through a rethinking democratic participation. The contribution, without claiming to be exhaustive, intends to analyze the peculiar features of the pedagogical proposal known as service learning, to understand if it can accompany personal and community growth processes in the wake of creativity and innovation in the field of environmental pedagogy and sustainability education.
