Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The cemetery ad martyres, built in the western suburb of Milan, is in the testimony handed down from the sources by the shrine of the most ancient Christian memories of the city, propped up with sacred places, buildings of worship, venerated tombs. New data on the funerary use of the area are provided by archaeological investigations conducted between 2005 and 2012 in Piazza S. Ambrogio, which recognized a funerary nucleus that developed between the 5th and 6th centuries.
