Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The present study intends to shed light on the connections between support perceived by different providers, positive self-image and risk behaviors in young adults (18-27 years). 109 males and 224 females answered a questionnaire on the perception of the support received from parents and friends, on the positive self-image and on some risk behaviors put in place. Through the path analysis, a model was tested to assess the influence of relational factors (different support providers) and individual factors (positive self-image) on risk behaviors. The results show that some model paths differ significantly depending on the gender of the young adult.
