Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay enumerates a series of data emerging from the works of the gromatici veteres which shed light on the juridical-agricultural scope of the interventions on the Italic territories carried out by Octavian in the triumviral era and then, after the foundation of the imperial power, by Augustus. The expression 'legal-agricultural scope' alludes to the fact that details often emerge from these sources
significant both on the technical aspects of the colonial deductions in question, and on some
new regulations adopted generally by Octavian and then by Augustus which appear to be
remained in force even in the following centuries. Moreover, despite the tradition
Latin agrimensoria (collected by Lachmann in the so-called Corpus Agrimensorum Romanorum and,
limited to the gromatic veteres, from Thulin) preserves works that are very heterogeneous,
both in terms of theme and dating, the underlying motif in them is the reference to intervention
Augustan of territorial and administrative reorganization of Italy.
