Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In February 2017 a young man from Turbigo, thanks to a series of fortuitous circumstances, found a bronze sword. The sword was collected intact and in excellent condition, with the exception of a very small portion of the tip which was already broken in antiquity. This contribution describes the circumstances of its discovery, the type and chronology of the sword and proposes its classification in the context of the Middle and Recent Bronze Age in north-western Italy. In the second part, the article discusses possible interpretative scenarios in the light of the recent debate on the issue of weapons "in rivers" in archeology and anthropology.
