Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] SOLAT (Style of Learning and Thinking) is a questionnaire designed to measure individual differences in thinking style (right or left). The present study examines the psychometric properties of the Italian version of the questionnaire, administered to 489 subjects aged between 21 and 31 years. The stability check was performed through 137 subjects, who repeated the completion of the test 8 weeks later, resulting in a high test-retest correlation coefficient. The use of the factorial analysis and reliability analysis methodologies, together with the Rasch analysis, allowed to validate the questionnaire, eliminating the 6 less coherent items. Finally, an original criterion for classifying the subjects is proposed, based on the sum of the scores obtained on the remaining 22 items of the questionnaire.
