Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The thirties mark the start of the process of 'massification' of cinema consumption in Italy. The essay crosses a plurality of sources (from the few statistical data on the diffusion of the halls and on the number of tickets sold, to an extensive repertoire of articles published by the main magazines of the time) with the aim of defining the extension and sketching the contours of cinema consumption over the decade.
