Abstract

In this essay we wish to reflect on the teaching issues that the European Profile for Language Teacher Education (Kelly, Grenfell 2004) may have on the organization of training courses for teachers of Italian as a second language. These issues are not presented as a blind and passive application of transnational norms, but rather as a necessary completion for proposing a language teaching perspective which can be updated, informed and shared. We will than focus on the detailed description of the A.N.D.R.O.M.E.D.A. project. Eventually, the effect of its nine guidelines, which summarize as many inalienable moments of language teacher education, on Italian as a second language will be investigated.
