Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The need to evaluate, from an ethical point of view, the use of technologies in the health sector - for a long time expressed only at a theoretical level - is now implemented, from a practical point of view, in the particular research area represented by the Health techonology assessment (HTA). This is a research methodology, widely spread in the international panorama, supporting health policy decisions, which assesses in various aspects (effectiveness, safety, economic impact, effects on the organization of health services, ethical, psychological, political and political aspects) social) the use of technologies in the health sector. With reference to the ethical domain, the evaluation process normally used for health technologies is problematic if applied to nanotechnologies, due to a series of specific ethical questions raised by the latter. The intervention will argue on this "problematic", trying to outline possible intervention strategies.
