Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Although we do not have a clear explanation of what happens when we think, our understanding of the components and processes involved in thinking is increasing. In this chapter we will present four areas addressed by psychology in the study of thought: 1. the ability of human thought to categorize and conceptualize reality and thus organize experience into concepts; 2. the analysis of the different forms or formats of thought, thanks to which the human mind is able to think through images, narrations, sentences or procedures of action; 3. the study of reasoning, that is the ability to make inferences and put knowledge in relation to 4. the resolution of problems.
