[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume presents a comprehensive research on families that have personally accepted this challenge. In particular, the lens was placed on a particular phase of the family life cycle, adolescent, with the aim of seeing how these families live and prepare the insertion of children adopted in the broader social context. The peculiarities of the research are two: the multidisciplinary approach that sees the connection between social psychology, sociology and clinical psychology, and the common family perspective. In fact, the focus was on adoptive families with adolescent children and young adults of another ethnicity, in order to highlight their family culture, inter-generational ties, the quality of relationships and the terms of adoptive pact. Over time each family stipulates, consciously or not, an adoptive pact, based on needs, desires and mutual expectations, and subject to changes over time due to the changing needs of both parties. The volume is presented, therefore, as a precious tool both for those dedicated to scientific research and for those who, adoptive parents and operators, are directly involved in the growth of adopted children.
