Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume contains twenty essays written by as many Italian, French and German specialists on the religious order of the Templars. There are some absolute novelties in relation to the legislation (manuscript 44 A 13 of the Corsiniana Library of Rome of the Accademia dei Lincei) and in reference to the liturgy, with the analysis of a recent code preserved in the Capitular Library of Modena, used in a " domus "during the 13th century. The religious order was inserted in the context of the Mediterranean at the time of the "passagia", or armed pilgrimages (the word crusade does not exist in the sources of the XI-XIII century) to the Holy Land. Each essay, clear and easy to read, concludes with a bibliography useful for those wishing to explore the issues discussed.
