Abstract
According to various scholars, religions are regaining public relevance. What does this mean for social contexts marked by a growing cultural pluralism? Could religions be a resource for the integration of differences and for the construction of communities based on respect, dialogue, commitment to the common good? Or are they just a source of conflict? These questions represent the starting point of the article. The aim is to show the necessity for religions to assume a new civic role, for a society characterized by fraternity, justice, solidarity and sustainability.
