Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay takes into consideration the debate on Newtonianism in Italy, using "Il Newtonianismo per le dame" (1737) by Francesco Algarotti as a privileged observation point. And it shows how behind the most successful model of dissemination of Newtonian science, radical and potentially subversive ideas were hidden. To such an extent that Algarotti's work was put on the Index in 1739.
