Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Increasing employment and participation in the labor market is the imperative that for at least two decades has explicitly accompanied the European guidelines on economic development and ski cohesion, and the related vision of active citizenship. In the wake of the Social investment approach, a new way of understanding the relationship between employment and social protection contributes to this objective. The chapter critically discusses this approach and in this context analyzes activation policies.
