Abstract

According to Graham Pike (2008) a revival of interest in education for global citizenship is emerging, particularly in Europe. Such attention is closely related to the concrete objectives of teachers who try to involve their students in understanding the world around them. But is it possible to continue to ignore the fact that young people today lives in local contexts deeply linked to the global dimensions that affect their lives? Is it possible to avoid teaching to deal with global dimensions that impact so significantly on their lives?
