Abstract
Founded on the eastern suburb of Brescia by Bishop Landolfo II, the Benedictine monastery was an instrument of reform of the diocesan Church according to the episcopal directives; the essay traces the historical events of the monastery, based on a rich archive documentation, up to the fourteenth century, when the first signs of decline led to the transfer of the cloistered community within the city.
