Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume collects the contributions of twenty Italian and foreign authors who have investigated the monastic environment in various areas of northern Italy between the 11th and early 12th centuries. Coinciding with the millennial of the foundation, some reports were dedicated in particular to the abbey of S. Benigno di Fruttuaria, considered from an architectural, artistic and historical point of view, including the latter of an investigation into the influence of fruitful monasticism in the Germanic area.
