Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] From a master of the narrated word the praise of the book and the word in the history of the world in a provocative but anticipatory and still current youthful work. The vision of the "dying millennium" marks the end of the movement of the sixty-eight in literature and breaks the wave of the neo-avant-garde ridden by Sebastiano Vassalli, transferring the political-social concerns of those years to the page through linguistic fury and cultural satire. Between prose poetry and taste for aphorisms, the author of the Chimera shows that "everything comes from the word" and society is like a universal book in which "billions of words have projected their illusions" along a "millennium that dies" if, thanks to literature, "the miracle of the words that hold back life" is not repeated.
