Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In this note I briefly review the experience of recent years in terms of renewable sources, with particular reference to their use in the production of electricity, focusing on two central issues in the perspective of economic analysis. The first question relates to the long-term trends of the comparative costs of energy production from renewable sources compared to traditional sources and to the way in which policy choices have been influenced by estimates relating to this variable. The second issue concerns the structure of the incentives, the ways in which they were made operational in Italy and the effects they produced on the evolution of the Italian market.
