Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The now traditional biennial appointment promoted by AMIS has come with these Acts in its fifth edition. An international conference that basically identifies a theme divided into several directions, distinct but consonant. The goal was to continue the investigation into the complex stratification expressed in the musical field from the Baroque age. There is in fact a continuity between this last landing and the series of previous meetings, only to consider the assumptions underlying the overall project, outlined since 1985. First, the variable of interdependence, assumed in the its various systemic, diachronic and synchronic explanations. Thus, the reference temporal continuum - predominantly, though not exclusively, the Italian seventeenth (and now German) - and the choice of field, aimed at pursuing the new, the new, the unexplored. And it is precisely on the basis of the previous experiences that the conviction that a correct methodological approach cannot leave aside a historiographical interpretative process, devoted to the reconstruction of all the different segments that make up the system identified by the period under consideration, has become increasingly rooted. The linearity of development also substantially implies the theme chosen for this conference hosted by the Italian-German Center of Villa Vigoni, as is evident from the strong polarization of the survey, once again oriented to frame a varied and articulated perspective, according to an approach selective. The angle intends to capture some distinctive traits of the connective tissue underlying the experience of melodrama as settled in Italian centers, with particular reference to the so-called "minor" realities, as well as defining new thresholds of cultural permeability, proposing a survey on an extremely significant story which is that of the penetration of the Italian tradition in Europe and more specifically in the Germanic area.
