Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the essay we wanted to reconstruct the catalog of the so-called Maestro di Montiglio, an anonymous fourteenth-century painter, who on the basis of the observations produced both on the stylistic level and on that of the client, has been hypothesized may have formed and operated in a cultural context in which it was important the plot of relations between the Piedmontese courts (Acaia, Savoia, Saluzzo, Monferrato), or even, according to the case of his activity in Quart (Aosta), among the courts of what will be the Savoy to come. The possibility of recognizing in this artist an important precedent for the future artistic season of the so-called International Gothic descends from this reconstruction.
