Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] "To what extent does the awareness of knowing oneself limited and mortal affect the very modalities of human living?". Silvano Petrosino wonders about the moral and choice alternatives that man faces every day in the face of the complex reality of the limit. Whether it is considered a delimitation capable of determining and giving boundaries to the ego, a limitation that otherness reveals to us not without a painful coloring or, finally, a cessation that cannot ignore the mystery of death, the limit envelops and involves man deeply. The perspective, as the book of Wisdom reminds us, is two-faced: living the limit without transforming this experience into a justification for doing evil, or moving away from justice. The very presence of the righteous and his concrete work, however, is a stumbling block for the justifying logical claim of evil that if everything is nothing, then evil is also nothing. The great challenge for man, then, becomes to understand the limit as a condition of life, with a powerful creative force, and not as an objection to it.
