Il lessico del "Morgante" di Luigi Pulci. Studio e glossario

[Autom. eng. transl.] All studies on Morgante note that his lexicon is a set of heterogeneous elements among the most interesting in our literature and that it is precisely in the choice and juxtaposition of words that Luigi Pulci's art and imagination are most concretely manifested. Despite this, the lexicon of Pulci's poem has never been systematically analyzed: there have been important contributions on individual sectors, but, up to now, an investigation of the entire work has never been conducted. This volume aims to fill this gap by presenting a Glossary that, although selective, does not neglect any sector of Morgante's lexicon and allows us to detect the constants of the whole. The words of the poem ‒ selected on the basis of a complete analysis of the text aimed at identifying terms that are not easily understandable or interesting from a historical-linguistic point of view ‒ are classified in lexical cards which, in their articulation in several sections, have allowed us to define their meaning, to reflect on their origin and their history, as well as to evaluate their diffusion in contemporary, previous and subsequent texts.
