Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The text aims to analyze the relationship between work, society and the action of subjects both in the classical authors of sociology and in the recent sociological debate, with the aim of verifying the hypothesis of the explanatory capacity of work with respect to society: how much Does work structure society? And how central is it in the life of individuals and in the construction of social bonds? Which 'work' and which 'company' can be accounted for through sociological analyzes? Furthermore: does it make sense today to speak of the centrality of work - and in what terms - if the labor society inherited from modernity is shattered to the extent that, for example, its system of regulation fails?
