Abstract
Within the yearly Italian Report on Migrations (2010 edition) realised by the ISMU Foundation – the main Italian scientific institution on migrations and interethnic cohabitation – this chapter focuses the attention on migrants’ insertion in the Italian labour market. After providing a general picture of major European and international trends about economic migrations and their regulation in front of the economic recession, it takes into consideration the characterising features of migrant labour demand’s and supply’s. Finally, it develops some concluding remarks, highlighting the major weakness elements of the Italian approach to economic migrations and their governance.
