Abstract
Within the yearly Italian Report on Migrations (2016 edition) realized by the ISMU Foundation – the main Italian scientific institution on migrations and interethnic cohabitation – this chapter focuses the attention on migrants’ insertion in the Italian labor market. After analyzing the most recent data concerning migrants’ labor forces, employment and unemployment, it focuses attention on the main characters of migrant labor demand. Finally, it put into question the issue of policies aimed to regulate economic migrations, and their relationship with the policies addressed to receive forced migrants. A synthesis of the contribution will also available in the English version (The XXII Italian Report on Migrations).
