[Autom. eng. transl.] Invisible to politics, poorly represented by simplifying and negative stereotypes, suspended in the middle ground of those who are no longer young but not yet considered fully adult, the thirty-year-olds in Milan claim attention, social recognition and opportunities for affirmation in the world of work, politics , of civil society. The last ones belonging to Generation X constitute a fundamental resource for the city. Numerically still substantial, as marginally touched by the processes of birth rates, the vast majority occupied, producers of wealth and ideas, source of human, relational and family capital, weavers of sociality and solidarity, they should represent the cornerstone of the economy, of the social and political life of the city, the sap of the new ruling class. But this is not always the case. Within a context marked by the crisis, from the growing vulnerability and uncertainty, for the thirties, work, family, income, home can be transformed, still by security and stability, into factors of inequality.
