Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The changes in nuptial and reproductive behaviors (deferral and decrease in nuptiality, increase in the birth rate), the presence of new family situations originating from marital separations, the emergence of issues posed by new social and cultural realities (prolonged stay of young people in the family, difficulty in reconciling family educational tasks and work activities) redesign the family morphology, pose new questions, open new educational perspectives. Older people feel displaced in a rapidly changing society that requires new skills. The risk is that intergenerational lack of communication will increase. In doing so, an immense wealth of knowledge about life is lost. Those who have lived longer carry with them a "gift" that no one seems to want to receive and which perhaps even adults themselves do not believe very much, instead it is important that every adult is aware of the wealth of experience and to know about the fundamental issues of life such as love, faith, suffering, hope, values, which are waiting to be communicated to the younger generations. Young people need credible witnesses with whom to confront to find their own way in the world, they need adults who know how to "compromise" themselves in the educational relationship, they need parents who know how to open the doors of the future so that dreams, desires, projects can find mansion. The family is the place where the gift of education can be transmitted from generation to generation.
