Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay, based on the most recent historiographical debate, traces a picture of the dynamics that led to the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire after the First World War and of the processes through which the new Middle Eastern national states took shape, with particular attention to the interaction between political, social and cultural dynamics.
