Abstract

The word cohousing is internationally used to identify forms of cohabitation which mainly respond to elective type strategies used by families and/or individuals who decide to reside permanently in housing facilities designed to offer both private and shared places. People assigns different meanings to this type of cohabitation: solidarity, reciprocity and life community. This contribution proposes a brief overview on the main models of cohousing found in Italy today.
