Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Historiography has now amply documented how the Italian 1968 was also the result, albeit indirectly, of the cultural and educational transformations that, during the twentieth century, led the world of youth to become a distinct and self-aware social and existential subject. . In this process, the cinema of the 1950s played a decisive role, as it allowed young people to begin to reflect themselves in nonconformist behavior patterns, which were viewed with much suspicion by adults, public opinion and educational agencies. Among the latter, even the oratories, who from the early twentieth century used cinema as a tool for recreation and training, had to deal with the unprecedented image of young people that the film market conveyed and, therefore, question themselves about the effects that it could generate. on the paths of popular Catholic education and, more generally, on the willingness of the new generations to adhere to the values of traditional morality.
