Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The article reflects on the evaluation of confiscation policies. Paragraph 8.2 reviews the scarce literature on the subject and investigates the reasons for the reduced scientific production on the subject. Paragraph 8.3 presents a study on the implementation of confiscation policies in the European Union conducted in 2006 by the author of the article, which is still the most advanced example of understanding their application practice. Section 8.4 discusses the possible frontiers of evaluative research in this area, and in particular the methods that can be used to assess the impact of the sanction in terms of general deterrence. Finally, paragraph 8.5 contains some final considerations.
