The essay reflects on the relationship between contemporary media and identity, both in reference to the individual and the social dimension, articulating a transversal reflection that concerns not only the relationship between the contemporary media universe and the identity question, but more specifically the potential and the functionality of an educational media approach in addressing the theme of identity, identifying it as the central theme in the theoretical reflection, methodological choices and implementation practices of Media Education.
