Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In recent years, there have been growing difficulties for the evolutionary perspectives of research dedicated to the issues of poverty and institutional innovation carried out to address it. However, this course of study continues to offer interesting points of investigation and valuable indications for policies to contrast the old and new forms of marginalization, especially in terms of involvement and enhancement of communities, intermediate bodies, and the charismatic intuitions that, in the course of over time, they have given breath to the subsidiary prospect of building a fairer society. Thanks to the aforementioned points of investigation, and to the correlated indications for intervention policies, history can help to build social peace, to pursue justice by compensating for inequalities, and to strengthen today's institutional context, both nationally and internationally. The aim of this volume is to discuss the theme of poverty in history, analyzing the most recent and innovative research perspectives pursued at a European level, outlining the profile of a new, historically based interdisciplinary lexicon and identifying new sources for historical investigations.
