Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The social enterprise is one of the most significant examples of institutional and organizational innovation established in Italy in the last thirty years. The success of this entrepreneurial formula is linked to the ability to understand the changes in needs in some key areas of welfare such as social and labor policies, responding through the production of services aimed at different beneficiaries (such as young people, the elderly, the disabled). At the base of this experience we recognize a constant effort of elaboration and progressive diffusion of a new culture that values the subjectivity and invests the organization and its reference environment. Social services thus become "relational goods", resources derive from market transactions but also from donations and volunteering, the organization is open to the contribution of different "stakeholders", the territory is acted in the form of a community that is the origin and purpose of entrepreneurial action. A culture that has found progressive - though not definitive - definition through a substantial network work, of which the CGM cooperative group (Consorzio Gino Matterelli) represents one of the highest expressions at national and European level.
