Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Pasternak was a symbol for entire generations in Russia, for which his writings "sounded like apostolic letters"; they were feared and forbidden by the regime, but circulated through the underground channels of the samizdat even reaching the camps, where - the poet Varlam Šalamov writes, "his verses were read as prayers".
