Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the context of the Conference (5-7 November 2012) "The divine and the order of the world: a recurring polarity. Minima metaphysica I ”, I developed the hermeneutic of a famous passage,“ Gorgia ”, 507 e6 - 508 a8, in which the relationship between“ theoi ”and“ kosmos ”is presented by Socrates, in response to Callicles, in reference to revelations of "sophoi". After an accurate lexical reconnaissance in the dialogue and in the Platonic "corpus" of the most important terms recurring in the passage, I analyzed the main "communication strategies" used by Plato to realize his conception of philosophical writing, in the light of the most recent literature, with particular attention to the central function of the "metaphor of the Mysteries". In the "Gorgia" the "dominant motif" is the problem of rhetoric, the "thematic center", that is, the decisive philosophical problem is the model of life that deserves to be pursued, and the theoretically fundamental problem is that of Good and Measure, on which the order is based in the "psyche" and in the "kosmos". Starting from considerations of a lexical, methodological, bibliographical and theoretical nature, I have shown that Plato bases his appreciation on the authority of "scholars" of the Pythagorean matrix with a significant reference to the foundation of order, of "philia" and "koinonia", which govern the "kosmos", the "psyche" and the "polis".
