Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume publishes the factory registers from the Visconti era of the Certosa di Pavia (the documents were edited by Sofia Brusa and Emanuele Romanini), reflecting in a series of essays on the monument from different points of view. Stefania Buganza, the first author of the monograph, is responsible for a substantial opening essay (pp. XXV-CXLI) which guides the reader to discover the Certosa dei Visconti, interweaving the attestations of the registers with further archival documentation and the analysis of the works survived on site or linked to the Carthusian context of Pavia. She is responsible for the substantial index, the metrological note and the glossary of terms published at the end of the volume. Nadia Maria Covini, Elisabetta Canobbio, Charles Morscheck and Pier Luigi Mulas addressed the Visconti Charterhouse from the point of view of its political and religious history, its relations with the Fabbrica del Duomo of Milan and from that of the supply of illuminated manuscripts.
