Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The subject of custody is and has been objects of reflections and debates by numerous disciplines. In fact, fostering is not just a social, legal or psychological fact, but it is all these (and other) things together. The current tendency to tackle this issue with an interdisciplinary approach helps to grasp the need to open up to new fields of research and research. In this paper we will focus on the psychological and social implications of the problem, as they appear in the Italian and American literature. To facilitate the analysis the various "actors" (child, foster family, natural family, social workers) involved in foster care will be isolated in order to analyze the contributions that psychology and psycho-social disciplines have provided on them in over the years
