Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The growing importance given to the issues of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has led many companies to adopt organizational units dedicated to these issues and to favor the emergence of new professions. This professional figure is responsible for leading the transformation of the company towards the full integration of social and environmental issues into company activities and, given the constant evolution of the companies' commitment to CSR, it is also constantly changing. With this in mind, a research was carried out in 2012 on 100 Italian CSR professionals, in order to deepen the figure of the CSR professional, analyzing the activities carried out, career paths and economic treatment. The research highlighted a gradual affirmation of the profession in question in terms of responsibility and economic treatment, and identified the affirmation of three different professional profiles connected to CSR: the sustainability reporting professional, the environmental management expert, and the responsible for managing relations with suppliers.
