Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] For the prevention of radicalisation, the school can play a very important role, both directly, through timely intervention to support students who show premonitory behaviors and attitudes, and indirectly, through teacher training and promoting knowledge and internalisation of principles on which European societies are founded (the rule of law, equality between men and women, non-discrimination, etc.). Through school programs, understood as tools of knowledge, and the stimulus for reflection, the school can build a counter-narrative that responds
effectively to any form of violent fiction. Furthermore, by allowing identification with the democratic values of the Constitution and through learning the rules of social coexistence, it can help to counter intolerance. In this perspective, the training of teachers is fundamental, through which they can acquire a greater awareness of the factors that fuel radicalization and a specific ability aimed at detecting behaviors
and problematic attitudes, in order to promptly hypothesize and plan initiatives and interventions. The chapter also presents an operational model of intervention in the school.
