Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The ten essays collected here offer, mostly under the intertextual angle, a series of readings extracted from the entire arc of Eugenio Montale's production, an exceptional witness of more than half a century of Italian cultural life, from the Ossi di sepia to the Diario posthumous. The research particularly focuses on the phenomena of tradition (with frequent references to d'Annunzio, but also to Poliziano and Papini) and, in the last large essay, on the essential relationship of the Ligurian poet with music and more specifically with melodrama.
