In particular, the essay focuses on the figure of the grandparents of whose change little is spoken and who, on the contrary, can have significant repercussions on the socialization of the new generations. The grandparents, third generation, have always represented a very precious asset for the second (adult children) and the first generation (grandchildren), but today being able to count on the support of the family of origin constitutes for the young families an often indispensable "trump card" . Speaking of "new" grandparents means bringing attention to the atypical nature of the relationship that is established between the three generations involved, strung between the two opposite poles of intentionality and compulsion.
