Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The development of Marche dei Distributori (MDD) in the assortments of modern grocery distribution has challenged the competitive balance between the different types of Marche. In particular, the growth of the market share of the commercial brands has led to a gradual worsening of the competitive position of the leading brands, with a consequent intensification of vertical competition between retailers and branded industrial companies.
