[Autom. eng. transl.] Credit intermediation has been the subject of significant production and distribution innovation processes. It is in this last context that the growing recourse, even in Italy, to non-proprietary (or indirect) distribution channels, such as commercial establishments, agents in financial activities and credit brokers or brokers, is placed. The use of these last two types of intermediaries appears functional to satisfy cyclical increases in the demand for credit without having to make changes to the proprietary distribution network, to facilitate entry into markets with a low degree of contestability and to implement differentiation strategies.
