Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay reconstructs the profile of the cinema audience in Italy in the Thirties, through a patient work of recovering the few statistical data on the presence of the halls, on the number of tickets sold, on the different types of exhibition (including forms of 'traveling cinema') and their intersection with the publicist, with the customary chronicles contained in the specialized press and with some initial research that aims to evaluate the impact of viewing films on the public.
