Abstract
Solidarity Purchasing Groups (SPGs) represent a significant
experience in Milan, where they have been active for over two decades now. Today, however, the urban context has
profoundly changed, due to the spread of new channels for the purchase of sustainable food, both offline and online.
Given these premises, it is interesting to understand if SPGs still represent a relevant phenomenon in Milan and if
they have changed their practices in this new scenario. The mapping conducted revealed the presence of 62 SPGs. The
interviews with privileged witnesses highlighted how, alongside SPGs operating according to established routines, there
are SPGs that have changed their practices to give stronger support to some producers or involve a larger number of
consumers.
