Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] A group of German, French and Italian scientists found in the period 27-30. October 2022 in the enchanting historic estate of Villa Vigoni, overlooking the western shore of Lake Como, a place ideally suited for fruitful cultural exchanges. The reason for the working meeting was a study and research seminar on the German philosopher and sociologist Georg Simmel (1858-1918), and in particular on the topicality of his thinking in various areas and in relation to heterogeneous issues of our time. Starting from their own (philosophical, aesthetic, sociological, historical) point of view of their disciplines and from a dialogical point of view, the participants presented lectures that were as varied as they complement each other, and thus not only the inexhaustibility of Simmel's rich thinking, but also his contemporaneity, but also underlined the crucial importance of an always desirable interdisciplinary comparison for our time and its challenges, which offers a fertile breeding ground for interpretations that do as much justice as possible to the complexity of the real. The various contributions are presented in this article according to the following perspectives: i) the anthropological bases of historical, philosophical and social research and the crucial psychological dimension of the social subject; ii) the distancing from any form of abstraction and dualism, as emphasized by modernity; iii) the legacy of confrontation with other Simmels towards contemporary or later authors and schools of thought.
